Alpine IVA-W200 + IPOD, any experience??
Hey Folks
So, with new Ipods coming out, the older 60 and 80 (i think) ones should be cheaper now (around $200ish off ebay), and thus i'm kinda looking for one assuming they actually work well as I have planned.
I'm working with the Alpine IVA-W200, and understand I can directly connect an Ipod via alpine's KCE-422I cable and do everything at full speed as it would if you were just using the Ipod.
Does anyone have any real life experience doing so with a high capacity Ipod and one of the Alpine A/V head unit's that can connect via that cable?
Can you display a useful amount of info through the deck? Is it limited in any way from the Ipod? Is searching for a song a complete pain in the ***? Do things just get silly when you have 10 or 20,000 songs? What are the up's and downs of it all???
My sole reason for this Ipod would be to put a mass amount of music in my vehicle at one time (last I checked 150ish gb). Get rid of the needing to make various cd's when I can just have the Ipod with 10 or 15000 songs in there.
On top of songs, will it do video through the HU's display?
Lastly, just to make absolutely sure, is this cable and plan fully compatible with the IVA-W200, i'm 83% sure it was a year ago, but now alpine's website only list it being compatible with various current units (the closest being the IVA-W205).
Thanks
