Whats the better Sub. Alpine type X or a kicker L7. Also are there any benefits to buying 10's over 12's ? Tighter bass etc... Help.

I haven't heard the alpine, but i've seen heard the L7 and that's what i'd buy.

As for 10 vs 12, I'd go for 15, if you want sub frequencies, go big.

10" are for midbass.

this is a boring topic, but just depends what you want from a sub. most alpine subs work great and same with the L7 but the only thing with an L7 is that they are not that great at really fast bass but they will do it. But if you want a good amount of output then go for the L7. But if you want good overall package then go for the type x. but again it is your ears go have a listen to them and see what you like.

Type-X 12

i have a type X 12 in a ported box tuned @40HZ

now maybe its just the box...but this sub LOVES LOW... anything above 80Hz ... not so much... it almost refuses to do 100Hz+...

then again box tuned for 40 Hz.

around there though it'll donkey punch your girlfriend for you!

Ive owned both L7 and type x I preferred the L7 only cause i found it hit way lower but the type x still hit pretty low and hard but for the cost and performance go for the 12" L7 IMO

There is NO benefit to 10 vs. 12.

There is a real benefit to 12 vs. 10.

10 is for mid-bass.

That's either a joke or very confident statement .
