Alpine MRP m1000....1 ohm?

I have never used the Alpine MRP m1000 amps before but what happened is my buddy took his amp in (RD 850.1) and the shop wrecked it so they paid for his whole install ($210) and gave him an Alpine MRP m1000 in exchange for the wrecking the RD one. The amp would power up just fine but there was output at all, other amps would work fine in its place, took the 12 hours to install an amp in a Tiburon :/

Here is the question:
He will be running a 15" dual 2 ohm sub so Is this model of Alipne ok to run @ 1 ohm or will it fry? He may have to try to sell it or something so he can still run the 15"......as 4ohm isn't going to be too special with this set up..

Thanks!

That amp wont do 1ohm.
I'd have stopped, and gone to a different shop once they blew the amp up.
And had the shop pay for the repair of the RD.

Oh he's not taking his car back that is a given.
I will tell him to use the money they gave him back (for install and wire-$210) to use towards getting the amp fixed as I opened the amp up and could see nothing visablly wrong inside.

There is a dude in a couple town over who fixes amps/electronics and is very reasonabley priced so I think my friend will still end up ahead of the game after all is said and done.

Thanks for the reply!

sell the alpine and buy a new rd amp.

I think that is the route he is going to take but I think he is going to see how much the RD costs to fix 1st.
