Big 3 help (battery terminals)
Im about to order the components for my car stereo system, and was looking at doing the big 3 on my 2002 mazdaprotege with some 1/0 knu wire
anywyas Itook a look at my engine compartment...and well the alternator is deep in there I can't even see where the wire connects to it
as for my battery, I wouldnt be able to connect ring terminals to it as it's this style of terminal

now I looked into buying new battery terminals, but then my stock car wire wouldnt fit on the battery,so I could cut the old connectors, but if that happened, it seems like the wire splits ioff into two places off the ground, and possibly off the positive, so How would I recombine these?
any help would be greatly appreciated, if no one knows what im tlaking about feel free to ask questions

I fixed the link too..
Anyway, just lop off the factory terminal and put a set of new terminals on at the battery. If you don't want to drop for fancy ones, the ones in the second pic on the link work fine - I like to use them with ring terminals on the bolts.
IMO the alternator charge wire is the least important of the big 3 so don't lose sleep over it. The grounds are the most important IMO.

Ill be running a 4 gauge power wire, 1/0 alt wire, and the stock wirirng..whatever gauge it is
and yes I know I have to get a positive version as well
I dont have the ones in that pic I have the ones in the first illustration
also had a question about fusing the power wire from alt to bat
I read you're supposed to fuse the wire to what it's able to carry
so im putting a 120 amp fuse on the 4 gauge amp power cable
for the 1/0 alt battery wire If I put a 250 amp fuse on that wire, would that not allow 250 amps to flow through that wire thus killing my alternator..if something went wrong with my bat or vice versa, Im pretty sure my alt is only rated for 80 amps
also if my car alternator fuse went on my stock wiring my car wouldnt die correct..since I have the new wiring?
aloso for the big 3 the alternator to battery wire is not a must?

Let's see..
They'll do the same job the inexpensive bolted lead ones do but they are prettier.
A fuse cannot pull power out of anything. If you have an 80amp alternator and that is what you are trying to protect, then an 80amp fuse seems appropriate. What about protecting the battery though...
If you have both wires in place, yes.
IMO, nice to have but not vital.

sorry I worded that wrong..I meant if something went wrong..the 250 amp would allow a helluva lot more current to flow...why Have I read in certain cases to fuse for the wires capability (so 1/0 wire would have a 250 amp fuse when hooked from alt to bat),and then in other cases to fuse for 25% more of your alternator (so I would have a 100 watt fuse on that wire)..that's what I would like to know

My opinion is that the Alt-to-Bat wire doesn't need a fuse at all (most factory ones don't). Should you choose to fuse it, I believe it should be fused at both ends, in your case 100amps at each end, or if you want to fuse it only on one end, fuse it at the battery at 100amps.
The 0ga that goes from the battery to the amplifiers should carry a fuse large enough to protect the cable (250amps)
