Alpine PXA-H701 Question
Alpine PXA-H701 Question
I know this may sound a little old school, but can I connect more than one changer to my Alpine PXA-H701? I have one S624 (with digital output using a digital cable) hooked up and would like to add another S624 the same way. I know the 701 has multiple digital inputs but I'm not sure I can control the second changer.
Any thoughts?

You can hook 2 up, but only using ai-net..although the optical might work if you just plug it in..can't say for sure as i've never tried. You can use the versatile link for that..kca-410c., which allows up to 2 changers.
I have the 9811 or 9813 head unit...can't remember which...all of it is Ai-Net - the head unit, the pxa-h701...
If I can hook up two changers, does the head unit know that there are two changers? Does it give me an extra source to toggle through...tuner, disc (head unit), changer 1, changer 2?
Thanks,
Lawrence

Phoned Alpine today...you can add a second changer but you need to use the KCA-410 adapter unit, and even then, you can't run digital (toslink) out for the changers (only the Ai-Net connections), so I am not going to do it.
For anyone who wants to know, if you do it, when you set your head unit to changer (as you would with a single changer set up), you then use the "Band" button to toggle between Changer 1 and Changer 2.
Thanks to all
