Alpine Type R 3rd Gen
Hey has anyone tried the latest Type R's from Alpine. I am looking at putting one or two 10s behind the seat of my truck but I wouldnt mind seeing some feedback on them before I go out and buy. I like only having to buy subs once and not buy a second set cuz the first ones were a flop.
Thanks |
2nd gen were a great sub for the money, and the new ones should be better with a bigger coil, bigger magnet, and more power handling. They look like they have the same cone, surround and are actulally a little shorter overall, so they can fit in smaller areas. The price is about the same so they look pretty good to me. I previously had 2 2nd gens and they worked very well, sounded great and got plenty loud in a small sealed box with a 1000 watts, so I can't see why these would be any less capable.

Ya they look pretty good. Loving the fact that they slimmed them down. Fits just perfectly in my truck :D. Still wont match the 3 2nd gens in a sealed box in my mustang but. i suppose if i want big bass ill go and buy a POS sunfire or cavalier and fill that trunk with sub and/or box hah. But ya does anyone have any first hand experience with them yet I havent really been able to find any reviews.

get 2 beefy 8s and run them in a ported box!
from the vid i watched about the new type r line apparently the "slim" subs are suposed to perform better i had MANY 2nd gen type rs i had one on 1500 or so daily would have to occasionally glue the spider back to the cone but it took one hell of a beating and is still working till this day! also all the 2nd gen type rs i own ( 6 or so ) i had to reglue the surround back onto the basket because it would come off they are great subs for the money tho! |
