alpine x

hi
i was wondering if a kewood 1800 watt mono amp (900 rms) would run a 12" alpine type x sub?

Brad-S.A. 06-12-2006 06:35 AM

Should run it if its a 9152 or 9102

Revolution 06-12-2006 02:53 PM

will it have lots of power to run it?

Hof 06-12-2006 06:38 PM

If its a true 900 rms, I don't see a problem pushing it just fine. Box design will also greatly affect power handling, so that can help if you know what you are doing.

Revolution 06-12-2006 07:39 PM

does it take more power to run these subs compared to others?

Hof 06-12-2006 07:58 PM

Just depends on the sub. The higher the rms, usually the more power a sub needs to get moving nicely, but some subs are definetely more power efficient than others.

what are dd subs like, would it be better then the alpine x? say a dd 2512?

Please define "better", you're too general.

With a 2512, you'll have more SPL with the power you have (or plan on getting), but probably less SQ, unless you prefer ported boxes over sealed ones, and that the one you'd buy/build for the 2512 would be built to specs.

so which would be a better sub?
