ALT Companys in ONT CANADA

Hi all i know this has probly been asked acuple times.But are there any Companys like Ohio Generator that you can buy a upgraded alt for decent price.

I looking for a 200 amp in small case

we have a local Atl\Starter guy here that builds up your alt, he just done one of my customers cars aleternator, its a 97 Cavalier he made it up to a 160 amp.

I know of at least one in Kitchener, and they rebuild them often, rewinds, new upgraqded ones,

I've read that you can have your alternator rewound to a higher amperage... has anyone ever personally gone this route? curious on how much they can add and cost..

Just make sure that the shop is reputable. I had a rewound amp put in my old Malibu, and the person who rewound it messed up, and the amp only lasted for about 3 months when one of the windings fued to the case of the amp, and simultaneously shorted the amp, and seized it. I didn't think enough to check on who did the work, just had it sent out by a local mechanic. I will certainly look into it the next time.
