Alternator Whine Help
 

I just got all my wiring rigged up in my vehicle to run both my amps. However, I am having a problem with alternator whine from my front speakers. I disconnected the rca's on my front amp, and the problem seems to go away. I bought the basic knukonceptz klarity cable and I don't think that it is shielded. Would that be the reason for my problems, as I ran it along with my speaker wire to my fronts? If it is, how far do I need to keep my rca's away from my speaker wires?

try turning your gains down.
sometimes a cap can help clean up charging system noise.

I tryed turning my gains all the way down, still have noise. I guess I will have to try a new set of rca's. Maybe having shielded ones will help. It will suck putting new rca's in with my wall. At least it isn't sealed yet.

try a cd player(not the deck ) or some thing like it to the amp and see if that helps

I hooked my ipod up to it too. I'm pretty sure its the rca's. Ill check it in the next couple days. If the rca's aren't shielded, is that a pretty good bet they are picking up noise?

l changed my rca to shielded, seemed to help. keep rca as far away from all other wires if possible. l also grounded back to the battery and my cap is ground to the cabin. good luck. what car

for most ppl a good quality isolator is the way to go.. they are relativley cheap and easy to find... and in most cases there is little affect to the origional signal...

Sounds like a good idea, how would someone go about grounding their RCAs to their deck though?
