I have a e10A22 that I will be running in a sealed box. According to ED's website this sub can handle 650/1300 watts but only up to 800 watts in a sealed box.

I believe I can run this sub at either 1 or 4 ohms. So my question is what is the best way to run it and what would be the best wattage rating to run it.

Eg.......800 watts RMS @ 1 ohm?

800 x 1 @ 1ohm or 4ohm would be fine. I would suggest putting it in the eD spec ported box, that thing aounds amazing.

Can I buy an amp that is rated at 1000 watts @ 1 ohm RMS and turn down the gain so I won't damage the sub?

definatly! normally subs will handle more power than they are rated for as long as you keep the distortion away

but keep the gain down and everything should be a-ok! ;)

Yeah, if you get an amp that does 1000 x 1 @ 1ohm you just have to turn the gain down a bit. That would allow you headroom if you ever wanted to upgrade to a higher power handling sub and also the amp wont be working as hard to produce the power.

Good luck with the sub, that little thing is awesome.

Thanks guys.............the search for a 1000 watt RMS amp begins.
