I have a e10A22 that I will be running in a sealed box. According to ED's website this sub can handle 650/1300 watts but only up to 800 watts in a sealed box.
I believe I can run this sub at either 1 or 4 ohms. So my question is what is the best way to run it and what would be the best wattage rating to run it. Eg.......800 watts RMS @ 1 ohm? |
800 x 1 @ 1ohm or 4ohm would be fine. I would suggest putting it in the eD spec ported box, that thing aounds amazing.

Can I buy an amp that is rated at 1000 watts @ 1 ohm RMS and turn down the gain so I won't damage the sub?

Yeah, if you get an amp that does 1000 x 1 @ 1ohm you just have to turn the gain down a bit. That would allow you headroom if you ever wanted to upgrade to a higher power handling sub and also the amp wont be working as hard to produce the power.
Good luck with the sub, that little thing is awesome. |
Thanks guys.............the search for a 1000 watt RMS amp begins.
