ive got an amp and im using it for a sub, but its playing voice threw the sub, is it my amp or the line's-out from my deck that determine if voice's are played or just bass tones?

Don't throw your sub.

Sounds like the sub is not crossed over, or not crossed over high enough.

Check if your amp has crossover or low pass settings, and set them accordingly. What amp are you using? If it has a low pass filter, it would usually have selections of 50 or 80..it depends on the amp. This way, the amp will block any information above its selection.

Another thing to check to see is if the deck has a low pass filter for the sub. Some do, many don't.

If neither amp or deck have these settings, there's no way to set a low pass filter without changing either deck, amp, or adding a crossover to your setup.

Let us know the equipment you have so we know what options can be worked with.

ive got an eclipse deck 3422 and pyramid amp that is pretty old

You need to get a filter on that amp I imagine, the old pyramid's I seen weren't the greatest for filtering out the highs. You can buy a filter for very cheap so its not a big deal.

Buy these: Harrison Lab in-line Crossovers

Plug them into the amp and then plug your RCA's into them. I don't know what you want your crossover set at but the 70 Hz model I've linked here is a pretty generic frequency to cross over at. If you want something different there are many options on that site.

Problem solved.

Anyone know if the Eclipse 3422 has LP feature on its sub output?

Knight202 06-30-2004 09:21 AM

LP?
