Amp Descision help!?!?

Hey guys I picked up 2x10" Fosgate P2's Rockford Fosgate® - P210D4
Now I wanna Hook them up at 1Ohm Load. So I need an amp that does 500W RMS @ 1Ohm, since the subs are 250ea. I like the US AMPS XT-1000D that supposedly puts out exactly 500rms@1Ohm. Now is this enough? or should i go with something more powerfull like a HiFonics BXi 1208D thats rated at 1000+rms and turn the gain down to about 65-70% since i only need 500RMS. I just dont wanna buy the us amp and be short on power. Would be nice to know if they come with the test sheet like MTX amps which tell u usually the exact tested power output of that amp is. I seen an MTX TC8001 put out more rms than rated, if thats the case with the XT-1000D and it puts out lets say 570Rms then ill go for that. Let me know your opinions guys, thx.

What kind of budget do you have for the new amp? I might have exactly what you need on sale right now.

buddy of mine bought a US Amps XT2000D for his two 12" P3's about 4 months ago. great choice of amp. never runs hot and seems to put out some good power. make sure you have a good electrical though, they do suck some power. 4awg knu, 2 farad cap and my buddy see's 11.xx volts on heavy bass songs

With those P2's you would be better with something in the 400-600 watt RMS range! 1000W will work fine and headroom is cool but not necessarily needed with those subs.

i would say go bigger just because in the future you may want to get some more powerful subs so with 1000 rms you can double the power to your subs, plus all you would really need to do is turn the gains down to protect the subs you have now

im looking to spend about what those amps there are worth. 250'ish i guess. And your right fresh1, basically the only reason id go with the HiFonics is for the future headroom.

so guys should I go with the US Amps XT-1000D, or the HiFonics Brutus BXI1210? I want one of those 2 amps but im still undecided.

I've had a Hifonics bx 1205d for 3 years now running @ 1ohm(1200 watts)...not a problem to date..so i can recommend it from experience. Haven't ever had a US amps product, so i can't comment, except that they are well regarded.

There is another guy on a different forum that I talk to that repairs amps. He says that the US amps are not put together well, not that he is saying there are bad amps but that there prone to blow a little more often than others due to some cheaper parts used in them.
He BTW is not a US amps hater, he is running 2 Re XXX 15's so...

A lemon is a lemon, and your going to get a few from every company at one time or another, take it for what its worth
