You are trying to build a house from the roof down. Let me find out about the subs and go from there. Nobody can make recommendations on something without knowing where the speakers etc. are going to be installed. What do you drive? What do you have at present that you will be using (cd player etc.) Do you have room for a proper box for those 15" acoustic hairdryers?

So, your subs are 400watts each, 800watts total and not 3000. They are a dual 4 ohm voice coil. This means that the ideal amp is one of two types, a class AB 2 channel amp that makes about 200w rms x 2 (thus 800w rms into 4 ohm bridged) or a mono class D amp that makes 800w rms into 1 ohm. The latter of the two amps is going to be the better optoin. Keep the other speakers in the vehicle on their own amp and not trying to run off of this one. This is starting to sound like a recipe for disaster.

well my car is a 03 ml 350, so i think i have enough room for the box, and can you provide me a link to where i can get one of the amps u recommended.

o im planning to install a indash dvd player most likely a panasonic one.

450 rms a piece

Your subs are 450 watts rms and peak 1500 so yes you are correct they are 3000 peak in total but with sony i would suggest underpowering them a bit near 1500 to 1800 peak, or if you stick with sony get two XM-9001gtr amps, they are CEA rated and great amps for the price and at 4 ohms will give you 550 watts rms. Another good brand to look into would be kenwood or if you have i little extra cash perhaps a hifonics or crunch, they have great new lineups. Also talk to smartass abut powerbass amps he is starting to sell them and it is a great lineup of class D amps and you can get them from him for a great deal.

Another example of people believing totally BS numbers about the equipment you buy... You put 3000 watts to those things and you'll launch the voice coils through your rear window.

One high end 12" will blow those things away and use a smaller box.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

lol Tonez! Come on... Be nice! He is obviously a newbie. We all had to start somewhere. :)

I love to see that all people do in this forum is usually not give any good advice, they just like to act like d**** and try and make themselves look good. I try my best and give the advice that i can give to the best of my knowledge and all you can do is not give advice to this person but knock someone you dont know down. So again thanks.

I love to see when people group a few ignorants in with all the people that actually do help.

Notice that MR2NR put up 2 helpful posts with explainations and helpful advise. There are many good people on here, especially the vendors who are willing to help even those people looking to buy stock elsewhere.

LOWTONEZ 07-11-2007 07:20 PM

Okay

I agree with you i know that people help and i am not saying anything to anyone who has wrote positively in threads, like MR2NR the people that i am talking about know who they are and if you cant say some thing good about others trying to post positively then you shouldnt post at all, thats what MSN is for. There are many on here that have helped me with problems and i hope to try and help them. So thats my to cents nothing negative just neutral. Have a great day everyone.
