after about 20-30 minutes of playing my system, the bass shuts off.

I checked every connection, nothing looked damaged. I replaced the remote wire, replaced anl fuse with a 300a fuse and replaced the speaker wire.
the ground was redone and thoroughly cleaned.
When it shuts off after like 30minutes, the protection light does not come on. And after a break it will power back on and cut out after another 20minutes. it seems like its overheating but i've never had this problem b4. Amp is about 1 year old now.
planet audio 2500d.

Any ideas as to what the problem may be or what i should do would be greatly appreciated.

Where do you have your amp? It could be going into protection because it's too hot. Feel it when it shuts off. Thats probably the problem. I would look into getting a small amp fan or any fan you can run on a dc current.

I tried running it at 2 ohms and 8 ohms, same problem,
The area its in wouldn't be doing the damage since it just started messing up. But either way i did try it in a different area that was well ventilated. The amp was not hot when it shut off.

The only other option i see is that my amp is just broken or something,
ANY other suggestions ????

Try it on different speakers. Maybe there's a problem with them when the VC's get hot.

if youve tried changing the impedance and moving the amp (btw which way is the amp orientated, i.e. are the heat sinks vertical [up and down] or horizontal) the reason why i ask is that if the heat sinks are horizontal sometimes they can trap heat on the sinks, or in the amp, also, you could take the lid of (voiding waranty)and make sure the amplifying chips still make contact with the heat sinks via grease, if this dosent help, use a volt meter to monitor the power going into the amp untill it shuts of, but if it turns back on, i almost gaurantee its not a wireing problem, and just putting in a 300 amp fuse isn't gonna help, the only thing it might do is cause your car to catch fire. the fuse on the positive battery wire has nothing to do with the amp, it is to protect the wire, so look at the fuse(s) on the side of you amp, an put in the same rating of fuse on your wire, as you have on your amp. otherwise if its less than a year (or whatever your warranty is) and send it back to planet audio. i hope this helps

the heat sinks are vertical,
tried it at 2ohm and 8ohm,

my amp has no fuses attatched to it.

I used another amp in my car and everything played fine,
=\

so thats it ? everything that could be checked has been checked?

Unhappy

id say to send it back to p.a. if not try a friends box, or one at a shop to see if maybe the voice coils are heating and shorting out, but that dosen't make alot of sense if it turns back on, or try your box on a next amp, i dunno dude
