Amp for RE SX12
Just wondering what kind of power should I be running to a single RE SX12. I have an MTX 8100D but didnt know if that would underpower it? Or how beneficial would it be for me to run something with more power, possibly a D3???
ok why do ppl ask these questions? read the sub spec manual? what does it say for RMS power? 1000 watts or something? so ANY 1000 watt amp would work..........why in the world would you put a D3 on it???
The 8100D does its full power at 2ohm. The SX come in dual 2ohm coils (unless you ordered a custom config) so they would not be good match.
1000-1500rms would be the ideal area for best results (depending on enclusure and purpose).

prolifik **** off he wants to get into competing. He wants to know what the best amp would be for competing. he lives in the same town as me and keyur, he probly could have menioned that but didn't think of it at the time, hope to see you at the 3x show this weekend.
A comparable sized B12 will have a bit more bottom end while the SX will edge it in SPL abilities under ~1400rms.
The B12 is a better sounding driver IMO but the SX is still very nice sounding and a great performer.
