Amp/Sub Suggestions..

Alright guys.. i know this may have been asked a million times.. but i need some suggestions on a good amp/sub combo..

I'm not looking for window shattering bass.. but a nice deep loud thump would be nice.. I've run 4 guage lines throughout the car and running it on a stock 2006 accord deck.. got the remote line tapped through the cigarette lighter..

Looking to maybe run a single 12"..

Also on a budget of maybe 300-400 bucks..

Currently running some crappy 12" punch 1's along with a fosgate P8002 amp. (left channel is busted)

errrm you will prolly want a new deck if you plan to get at all serious about this system but if you want some new gear for that kinna money i would suggest the basic pioneer 12" sub with a pioneer amp as well had that as my first setup and it thumps not bad and would fit your budget....you could also look into some used gear

I was looking at the 12" L5 Kicker..

The reason i'm keeping the stock deck is because I have a 6 disc in dash cd changer which i really don't wanna give up..

How much sound quality/loudless am i sacrificing by keeping the stock deck?

U may want to rethink your remote turn on for your amp. In the past, customers have come in that have done that complaining of a turn on thump when they turn on their factory deck. I think its because when you start your car, the amp turns on because of the accessory power. If you turn on your deck after starting the car, then you would get a turn on noise cause the amp is already on.

Correct me anyone if I am wrong

wiring it up to the 12V cigarrette outlet is no good?

Have you looked into maxxsonics (hifonics, autotek, crunch, mb quart)? Great products and some at low prices too.

people have been having pretty good luck with the PG RSD 12's. they can be had for pretty cheap if you look around. power it with a good 350-400w rms and you should be happy. im sure you could get both and a box for cheap if you look around online.
