Amp tuning for new sub.

k. i bought a alpine type-r 12 dual 4ohms 2008model.
i have a custom ported box tuned at 30hz. ( i dont know the cubic feet size of it.)
i have a mtx tc6001m (the fixed version that came out last week)
4gauge wires and a pioneer DEH-P6000UB (08 model)

my question is.. how should i tune my amp?? it is 600rms and my sub is 500rms all running at 2ohms... i have a gain, bass boost, sub filter with freq.

i dont wanna bring it in a shop and then do it in 3 min and me having to pay..

im guessing this is a pretty basic comon set-up and people must know how to set it... please let me know and il be very happy.. o and btw my deck is all set so theres nothing having to be set with that. i just wanna know about my amp.

okay out your sub level on the deck in about the middle of the range...

then turn it up to your normal listening volume...

then start bringing the gain up to where you think its about the volume you are looking for.. then turn the gain down a bit and bring the boost up to get it back to the volume.

and for x-over set it low like under 70hz this is something you have to play with its alot of personal preference.

thnx but actually i was looking for somone who has already been threw a tuning with the same amount of amp watts and sub watts.. evryone knows te "gain until u distort then turn it down a bit." but i was looking for exact tuning like.. ( gain bit more then half, boost 1/4 etc..... but thx for the sub filter info!

i dont know what a sub sounds like distorted so like i wouldnt be able to do the whole ear tuning...im kinda newb hahaha

gain until you distort? no thats not how it works.. your are over powering there shouldnt be distortion. The chances of you finding some one with the exact same setup in the exact same car is pretty much zero. this is something that has to be done for each car individually if you want a good starting point match the gain on the amp to the pre out voltage of your deck. then tune it from there, thats the best any one can really give you with out being there to do it.
