do you need to run the ground to the battery, or will atacchiting to a screw on the body do the same?

Battery is sometime better on bigger systems for yours a nice clean, paint free surface a screw or self tapping bolt is fine. BTW watch where you put it not to hit anything underneth.

10ga should work... but that amp can probably pull in exess of 50-60 amps of current at full swing...... you should be using a minimum of 8gauge and as posted 4gauge would be better... especially if you ever want to add an amp or upgrade the sub amp to something larger....

well i fixed all my problems, amps is wired to battery nicley, and ground wire is wired to a bolt for the seat nicely. but it will still cut out at high output and when ever there lots of bass my battery guage drops, lights dimm and same with my hu leds. is this because i dont have a capacitor hooked up?

oh yah, well i have another wierd wierd problem that dosnt make any sense, the only way to get my hu to power up is to connect the ignition and power lead in the car to the ignition and power lead on the hu. like i mean all 4 wires together, it is the only way it works..... this dosnt make sense to me.
