Audiovault is where these days.....

Not to start a bash against a shop or any one person but after a couple of phone calls to which there was no reply one must wonder......

I'd like to know what happened to all the A&B's in Winnipeg... there one day, doors shut the next. No warning, nuthing... wierd.

Audiovault is gone, Rob is starting or has started at Best Buy in Surrey.

Kinda sends a shiver down ones spine when 2 local shops go under in about a month............

The new owner of A&B Sound (Seanix computers) is attempting to break as many ties with the former owner as possible. The interesting part of this is that the former owner of A&B Sound still owns all the property that the stores are on. That way, he is still receiving the lease/rent payments from all the stores & I believe that the new owner feels that these are inflated. I heard from my Winnipeg rep that at least one of the Winnipeg stores was being billed $41,000/month.
It's also happening out here too with the Surrey store moving to Delta. I would think there's more to come.

Figured something like that (A&B). None of the reps had much grease on it out here though, haven't seen Dale in a while so I couldn't ask him.

It is interesting to watch what some of the medium sized vendors are doing nowdays... around here there are still a couple "mom and pop" style stores, but they have to be suffering with an FS, Visions, and us here. I mean they do have their regulars, but they only buy so much. There are only 3 main shops as far as car installs, couple car dealerships hack away as well. No independant back yard types any more that I know of.

Just isn't like it was 10 years ago, that's for sure.

Audiovault, it would be great if you gave your Automobility Rep a call to square up your invoices. Or give the product back...

Paul Niwranski 12-13-2005 09:52 PM

^ Maybe this new market with all it's new different clientele will be a big hit for Automobility product

Yeah.... knew about that one.

Really wierd location. Weren't they in Gillam's old place on Portage? Can;t quite remember. They didn't even last that long, like what, 2 years? I'm still surprised that the two little independants are still open here. It wasn't good for them when it was just us (Krazy's) and Visions, but now that FS is here, their dime is getting pretty thin. The one place should be ok as they still do service, and are a full line Matsu****a dealer, but the other joint is relying on Pioneer and Toshiba to carry them.... newsflash.... we don't even move that much Pio stuff, and there is no money in Toshiba (or any TV).

Gus

Edit: Metafilter must not like the name of the Panasonic/Quasar parent corporation very much....
