Any experience with JL WX woofers?

Ive got a dilemna on my hands......

Im getting my install done on some new goodies in my 2011 Sonata GLS this Sunday.

Ive got Boston SR60 components going in the front off of a 200rms x 2 amp, and I have a 400x1 (2 ohm) amp going to be powering some woofers.

Ive got a professional doing the install (he's tapping into my stock head unit, using an Audio Control LC2I) to integrate into both of my amps and running the one to the components and the other to a sub of my choice.

Now here is the issue... I originally had a 12" ported Kenwood excelon in my old wheels. However, the box was built to spec, and was HUGE in my trunk (no room for hockey gear)

So I wanted to downsize a little, but still have decent sound....

Anyhow, Id like to stick to a sealed setup (either 1 12", or 2 10" subs)

Visions has a sale on a nice JL box with two 10" WX woofers in it. Box is built to spec, and its rated at 2 ohms (400rms) for both woofers inside.

The power match is great, and the box is a great size......

However, these are also entry level speakers, and I question their quality, sound, etc. I havent heard them yet, but for 200$ it seems like a good price for the woofers plus box)

budget isnt a major concern. I just want trunk space, and the best use of 400 watts RMS...

Any thoughts on those woofers, or would there be a better consideration for that kind of money?!?

They are decent woofers....JLs entry level stuff is better than a lot of others and for that price it would be pretty hard to do better if you are buying new with a warranty. If you give them 400W they will do a nice job for you.

You could spend more but to get an appreciable difference on the same power would be tough....

I went and picked up some W0 12's and a bassworx box from a guy on the forum.

Nice guy and he gave me a nice deal on everything.

Here's my only concern. The box I went with (prefab bassworx) is rated at 2.0cubic feet dealed. It fits PERFECTLY into my trunk.

Upon checking out the specs on the woofers though, they claim they want a 1.3ft cubed box.

Will I be getting poor results from this configuration?!?

Would polyfill resolve or help?!?

Im sure I could always go change over to a Type S, or another woofer at the shop if needbe (just picked it all up today)

But im concerned now that the missing .3 will cause the woofers to under-perform?!

Wouldn't worry too much....try it first, the smaller size will tighten up the very low stuff and increase your power handling....if there isn't enough for your ears, pull a woofer and shove some polyfill in there....try it again....

With 400W going to them you should be getting some pretty decent thud.....once again, getting a substantial increase will cost you more $$...
