hi guys. well this is what i have so far for my bass, yet to make a box, but i have 2 JL500.1 amps, 1 amp is going to power 2 (400rms) premier subs , these ones:

now the 4 sub sealed box will face the rear of my 2-door hatchback, i only have one capacitor though, got 4 guage front the front battery split into 8 guage at the rear to the amps. a question i have is, since i have only 1 capacitor should i buy another for each amp? or is there any way i can use 1 capacitor for both amps?? also except for the wiring of the subs to get the right omhs, which i can do, does anyone recommend or have any thoughts?? thanks a lot!!

Usually the subwoofer amplifier has the huge current swings so a capacitor benefits it the most.
A single 4ga run may be sufficient for both amplifiers but I prefer either separate 4ga runs or a 0ga run with that kind of power.
You mention that you have two 500.1 amps and that one is for the subwoofers. What are you planning for the other one? If I remember correctly the 500.1 amp is mono so it isn't much use for front speakers

no no, i meant that i have 4 of those subs and i want to put 2 of the subs to one amp, and the other 2 to the other jl. i have 4 gauge going all the way to back to my car, then split into 8 guage for about a foot long.
oh btw, do you recommned a cap on each amp or is it possible to run one to 2 amps ??

I wouldn't bother too much with getting another cap.
If you're really worried about current problems there are a few other things you should be doing first.
1) Upgrade the "big 3" (do a search for info)
2) Upgrade alternator
3) Get an extra battery
