It's a kenwood kac x201t excelon.(600 w) Thinking of buying it for cheap(new still in box)
Here's some specs: Amplifier Type- Dual Channel Bridgable -yes RMS Power at 4 Ohms- 50 W x 2 RMS Power at 2 Ohms -100 W x 2 Frequency Response 5 Hz - 50000 Hz Signal to Noise Ratio 105 dB Crossover / Equalizer Bass Boost With Bass Boost Low - Pass Frequency 50 Hz - 200 Hz High - Pass Frequency 50 Hz - 200 Hz Other Features Input Voltage -11 volt MOSFET Circuitry- Yes 3 Way Ready- Yes It also has it's own cooling fan, and I'm paying $200 for it. i'm a huge noob when it comes to car audio so that's why i'm askin the pro's. Do you think I should consider a cap for it as well? I think my alternater is only 90 amps. |
that is a nice amp what do you wanna use it for?
|
for now it will just be pushing a 12" kenwwod sub but then eventually power some mids for the back of my hatchback. think I need a capacitor?
|
In a word.....no.
Upgrade at least the battery to ground wire to 4ga....do the alternator wires if you can as well. Caps are bandaids for poor electrical setup issues....make sure the amp ground is solid and you should be fine. If you add another amp later, you may need a better battery and/or an upgraded alternator.....:dunno: HTH |
I own a x301t and have had no issues with it, other than the fancy sliding cover refuses to open at times, for 200bux it's not bad at all. Take it from bigredguy, if you were going to buy a cap, drop that money on a good battery instead and by all means upsize your stock wiring to create less resistance within your electrical system. Have fun.

Sounds like a lot of money for an old amp like that, not much power either.
Future shop had an amazing deal on an RF amp last week. Here is this weeks deal, more power and even cheeper http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...gon=&langid=EN |
