Anyone with knowledge (soundstream ref 500 sx)

Ive read some stuff on the net that the sx series was kindof un reliable, I plan on having this amp repaired and use it to run a dual 4ohm sub at 2 ohms which should be 500wrms.
Ive read that they were blowing up at lower impendances but im thinking 1 ohm and lower?
I also have a rubicon 204, and a lil wonder and want to add this and keep it all blue Im lovin the soundstream brand but i dont wanna dump a bunch of money into a "lemon" Anyone chime in that has any experience with these amps please.

These were great amps IF you did not ask them to do things that they did not like. 2 ohm mono is something that they do not like. Don't do it.

hmm, they are suppose to be stable at 1 ohm mono, 1/2 ohm stereo.... Im still researching tho, maybye i will do a 4 ohm bridge in the end and live with 300 wrms.

From my experience with these amps, anything under 4 ohm mono = smoke.

Shitty , i opened it up and cant find any signs of trauma, no burnt objects, no funny smells, with the noise im getting im thinkin the problem is on the audio side, im getting a big thump/scratch on start up and shutdown and the output doesent seem up to par at all, my lil wonder is pumping subs harder than the sx can.

Im leaning towards running it bridged at 4 ohms, but anyone else with experience is welcome to speak there mind as well.
