Arc audio is high end **** my friend, mind you the Kar series is their low end gear but still better than most. IMO... If anything they would put out more than advertised power. If its 200 dollars I would not even think twice about buying that, if it works and in decent shape.

You got great deals. I still have that 900.1 Arc, and will be selling it soon. It is a powerhouse, but the sound I found too unnatural for SQ purposes. You will not be disappointed with power output though at 2 ohms. I would not run it at 1 ohm. It does pound, but damping factor on it is 12.5 at 1 ohm, and you can really tell, as the sound gets really muddy.

I found the old KAR series overhyped, it just puts out good power, but the sound is not for my tastebuds. It does run a bit hot, but its pretty small. Older XXK series, new Foose Design series, and new KS series blow old KAR series out of the water.

If you are planning to run the 4 subs at lower than 2 ohms, dont expect good sound quality, but if you just care for rumble, then it should be ok.

well the subs are single 4 ohms so it will be wired to 1 ohm if he decides he wants them

is there away to tell the difference between the newer and older series? all the equipment will be under teh rear seat of a ext cab dodge ram so i hope it doesnt get to warm under there
maybe pics will help?

Nice Subs! Do They Keep The Cottons From Shrinking?

New KAR series are called KS, and utilize different technology. KS are very new, and just started to ship a little while ago. The KAR amp does not get hotter than any other average amp, so it should be ok.

Here is a pic of new KAR series > Arc KS1000.1

mmmmm that picture got out quick.....

The KS1000.1 uses the same cooling technology as the SE series amplifiers....

I have had both the KS and the SE series inmy daily driver during the middle of the summer at over 110 Degree's with the amps located in my sealed spare tire well with no exterior ventilation to the ourside or to the inside of the car and I have yet to have any of them shut down.... Even on a few trips to Los Angeles for Overhaulin in thatr heat at a pretty good click on the volume.... for about a 6 hour drive...
