Arg, my deck crapped out on drive home tonight!
Driving home on the highway, lots of snow, and all of a sudden I have no music. What I do hear however, is this repetetive "ping" of high pitched, high volume sound that every 2 seconds is coming out of the speakers.
I pulled over, pulled the fuse going to my amps, to stop the sound (and to prevent any chance of damage to my amps). The sound kept going even if the deck was "off". I am pretty sure it is the deck, as I tested when I got home. If RCA's were disconnected from the amps, then this sound was not occuring. Meaning that the signal causing it was being transfered from the deck to the amps. The sound was through all speakers, so if it was just one of the amps, it would have only been heard through whichever speakers that amp was powering. So, I need a decent, quality, high end (if I can) deck. I have no music! :( The deck I have that died, Pioneer DEH 3700MP. Was a decent deck, but it didn't owe me much. I don't have the funds after Xmas, but a $200.00 gift card for Zellers/The Bay/Home Outfitters, if someone has a good deck they might trade? :smilie_da Tim |
I just bought an Eclipse CD5030. Its been great so far.

Am working with a 2003 Honda Civic, and I think I'm for most part stuck with a single DIN for space. :dunno: Tim |
