ATTN FS installers

I have a customer who has been posted to CFB Trenton and is leaving tomorrow. She has a Compustar 2WFM8000AS remote start alarm that she had purchased and installed twice from the local Future Shop here in town. She will be needing a warranty appointment when she gets there as her vehicle will not remote start and her remote control needs to be replaced. Button #1 and no tones upon power up. I would have replaced her remote here but as I am a PRO dealer, I do not stock this remote.

Again, the original install was done by Future Shop and it was a mess.We removed her alarm from her vehicle as requested by the local GM dealership so that she could have a warranty issue on the starter / passlock interface resolved. The second install for this unit was also done by FS and covered under warranty. There is still a issue and she needs to know where to go to get this resolved. Who is the installer at a FS close to Trenton that is familiar with this alarm?

That would be my Bay in Belleville.

I can see what I can do I have a unit in stock I can swap although I would need the recept and work order from the origional install in order to do this. Also if the unit was removed by anyone other than FS and it needs to be re-wired then there would be charges that would go along with that.

I need a detailed list of the issues so I know where to start and I also need to know what was done in the vehicle by any third parties that would need to be fixed or re-wired again anything done out side FS would void our warrenty period and bay time is $50/hr.

Oh and b4 we get any further what year make and model is the vehicle?.

Please let your customer know this and have them call my bay to book an appointment.

The unit was installed by the FS in Nanaimo. Her car died here in town and the GM dealer would not work on it with it in the vehicle. The original install left all sorts of issues with reliability, especially the lack of proper connections and securing things down.

The unit was removed by myself before the GM dealer would do any work to the vehicle. Once the vehicle was up and running again, the customer took the unit back to FS in Nanaimo and had it reinstalled again. Now the unit will not remote start the vehicle. I did not have a chance to look at the install this time around (newer firechicken - black) but I suspect that there is a issue with the install once again. Hopefully it is something simple.

simple or not we will get her up and running again even if we have to replace the whole unit as long as she has a her recipt and work order we can charge the labor out and get paid anyhoo so no worries.

After the run around she has had with the FS's here, count on her having all her ducks in a row. Thanks for taking them on as a new client. Treat them good and they will be back.
