Audio question..help appreciated

First off..Hello! Im new to these forums and am really getting into the car audio scene.
Ive been looking around and trying to find out a good system for my car, i already have a pioneer deh P7700mp deck.

I have been looking at alpine, and really need opinions about them.

Ive been looking at this amp
http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/product...model=MRD-M605
and would like two of these
http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/product...odel=SWS-1222D

However ive never seen anyone with these subs in my area and would like to know what people think about these. Are they loud, do they pound, is it clear?

Any opinions/suggestions are welcome, Thanks for the help!

Hey.

Well, first off, what kind of system are you going to be building; one that sounds really clean and can be easily listened to for hours on end (SQ), or one that has tons of power and will drive you insane on long trips (SPL)?

Im going for a bit of both. Ill show you what im getting:

One Alpine Type-X 1000W Sub (great sound quality, kicks very hard)
http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/products/product.php?model=SWX-1242D

One JBL BPX500.1 500W Sub Amp (this amp is extremely musical, and very powerful as well)
http://jbl.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=BPX500.1&cat=AMP&ser=POS& language=ENG&country=US&region=USA

One JBL PX300.4 600W 4-channel Amp (very clean sound, good power)
http://jbl.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=PX300.4&cat=AMP&ser=POS&l anguage=ENG&country=US&region=USA

One full set (2 mids 2 tweeters 2 crossovers) Focal Speakers (i forget which model they are) (they are just about as good as the MB Quart Q series speakers, and these are practically bomb-proof)
(i forget which set im getting, so look around: http://www.focal-fr.com/car/en/ )

and its going to be quite good for SQ but it will also score a high number for SPL (the best of both worlds).

Your budget and the type of system you want will determine how items are chosen. You have lots of options to consider at this time, keep the blinders off and it will allow you to narrow in on the correct items for the application, rather than choose the application for the items.

yea, my sound system is going to cost around $4500 when the smoke clears, but it will be in the advanced consumer class. i dont want to be in the pro class because in audio competitions, you'd get slayed unless everything is flawless...

if you want something that will pound, why not get 1 type R then a some amp by JBL, they have a really good line of powerful amps. if you have the type R put in the right sized box, it will be plenty loud. 2 subs just adds about 3 DB but you need more power to drive 2 subs.
Im surrently running 1 12" pheonix gold octane R in my truck and it is plenty bassy. if i added the other octane R (i currently have it in my room as part of my home sound system) it wouldnt be as bassy because the amp couldnt power the 2 subs enough.

i seriously suggest checking out JBL.

well i called international stereo, and they said they have the new type s subs on sale for 160 right now, and the amp would cost me like 500, but he also said he would give me a deal on it. So should i go for it and get the two type s subs?

its completely up to you. if you think its a good deal, then go for it.
how soon do you want (need) to have your sound system by? because i would save up a bit more and have more options. but again, its completely up to you.

also, take into consideration what mr2nr said. pick your sound equipment for the application.
