AUDIOBAHN Ratings???
Whats with audiobahn they claim CEA2006 rated then none of there rates are done in the CEA2006. Then they claim a intake series 8002T will do 800wrms but has 60amps worth of fuses. I was just wondering if anybody here carrys them and what they think. We are looking at bring in the audiobahn line and it just looked a little out of wack. Any thoughs.
Thanks

The CEA2006 rating specification is very specific in terms of how the capabilities of an amplifier are measured, and how that information is provided to consumers.
From the looks of the website, they do not appear to be using CEA2006-standard power ratings.
I would want an amp that could produce 800W continuous to have at least 80A or 90A of fusing.
That being said, I have a few friends who are Audiobahn dealers, and the product has been extremely successful for them. They have fewer woofer returns with Audiobahn than any of their other lines and the product styling definitely attracts attention to itself.
You will also find that Brian is a great guy to deal with - which of course, can't hurt!

IN order to say you have CEA2006 ratings, you must use them somewhere. They could just be be buried somewhere in the owners manual, and still claim they are CEA 2006 compliant. Of course they cannot use the CEA2006 logo on the max power ratings, but they are free to use them on packaging, marketing material, and even the amp itself.
800rms music with 60A fuse is doable. Yes, I to would still like to see an 80-90A fuse. Some amps doing 1400rms only have 80A fuses. It all depends. No I don't want to start a debate on this. Just wanted for the uninformed to know there are other options.
Ya I have talked to Brian and hes seems really personable. I want to run the Audiobahn line. I guess I just have a problem sells an amp that is rated at 800wrms know full well it does closer to 600. You know what I mean. I like the line it looks awsome and I would like to deal with Brian and I know the line is becoming a hugh line (or already is). And I know it would sell. Just a personal problem I guess.

The amp might be well capable of producing 800W, but not for very long. I have reviewed dozens of amplifiers that pop their fuses when pushed to 1% distortion for longer than 10-15 seconds. The amp MAY just be fused low.
Another option - let's assume that the power ratings on Audiobahn amplifiers is enthusiastic. So, if that 800W amp is actually a 600W amp, I think that it would be necessary to compare the selling price and profit margin of this amp against someone elses of comparable quality and see if it's worth from that standpoint.
I haven't reviewed an amplifier from Audiobahn, only an EQ, Subwoofer and powered tube.
You can always ask for a sample amp to check out and send it to me to be evaluated - I don't charge very much for basic power measurements.
