Which sub is better? what are are advantages and disadvantages of both?

i am looknig for somehting that will take a 705RMS bridged output at 4 ohms.

my main concern is that the sub must last me a logn time and not blow.
i am looknig for something geared more towards SPL than SQ.

i have heard very little about audiopipe. i have heard it is a good company but im not sure.

so what do you guys think?

Audio pipe is way overrated... even thier power wire is rated for more then it really is...

Given the options I'd take the kicker..

so the kicker would produce more SPL than the audiopipe with my 700rms amp?

Id go with the kicker, and build your own box. Its not hard, I got Home Depot to cut the pieces for me last time I was in there. There might be box specs in the manual for the kicker, otherwise come on back and we'll help you out.

It'll be much cheaper and you'll get exactly what you want. ;)

I've had Kicker in previous cars with great results.
I see Audiopipe as an up and coming brand. If we look beyond the numbers - which I never go by anyway - surely Audiopipe isn't THAT bad a product is it?

i can't recall who builds audiopipe's subs, but i know that they share the same buildhouse as Resonant Engineering for their amps....

i would say with the L5 you have a proven product that will rock in a nice big ported enclosure. with the audiopipe, i have no idea what you'll really be getting ;)

Actully Audiopipe has really started to turn around there image. They use to be that company with all the flash and no go. They have re-rated there sub lines and done alot of retooling. There amps are amazing and so is there subs. The TXX line boast 1000Wrms and if you hook it up to a 1000Wrms amp of any type it will take the rated power specs. The Audiopipe line is up and coming into the market and as they re-enter they are doing so with A+ type products. Nothing but good things here. Moved alot of there line and I don't recall any coming back coming back.

I have no experience with audiopipe, but I have seen some cool stuff from them on realm of excursion. However, I do currently have a pair of the 15L5's, and they sure gave me the bass fix I need. I haven't really even pushed them hard except for when I play BME Click, and during BME Click its just stupid to sit in. SQ is pretty decent at low to mid volumes. Than again where is the SQ portion of music at 140 db's?
