I think I've narrowed down my search to power my Focal 165 V2 in my S-10 (these are the only speakers in the cab) with the Audison SX2 (They are rated 65X2 at 4 ohms).

Is this enough to power the Focal's or should I go for the Alpine amp at 100X2?

Or any other brands?

Those V2s simply will not produce any sound unless connected to an Audison amp. The Alpine amp does not provide a high-dollar enough signal for those speakers. It's sort of a like a proprietary system.

:D

All kidding aside (well, not 100% kidding lol) a solid 65x2 should be nice. More power never really hurts though as long as it isn't a gross amount of overpowering.

Hey, anybody see this current Focal/Audison craze like the PPI/JL days of old? Or the Image Dynamics/Xtant days of not-so-old?

Man, I'm taking shots from a guy from Surrey?!?!?!
Doesn't "To Serve and Protect" have a permanent office just off Scott Road so they can edit all the footage they film in the area? :D

I was just wondering if I am losing anything by dropping down to the Audison 65X2 (even though it's apparently under-rated power and (from what I'm told) cleaner sound than the Alpine at 100X2.

About $100 difference. Just wondering if it is noticable or not?

Dude, you are so not in the know. They have an RCMP detachment right in the heart of Whalley at 108 and KGH which doubles as To Serve and Protect headquarters :D Right by The Dell baby.

Alpine likes to rate their amps at 2 ohms so its probably not gonna give you 100 watts anyhow (unless its the 4 channel bridged). Go with the audison. If you can spend more the SRX2s
2x180 would be a great match to those speakers. or you can get their 3 channel and also run a sub.

I dunno but I think you'll notice the $100. I know I notice if I am missing $100 :D

You mean PPI/Quart... JL only made subs in those old days...

You mean Alpine/PPI/MBQ/AC/JL/Streetwires.

Might as well include the WHOLE cookie-cutter system :D

Don't forget though, they system would only work if you had the exact same vehicle.
