Audison SRX2S
Audison SRX2S
I am wondering what you guys know about Audison amps and more specific the SRX2S. They are regular 800.00 and I can get one for 425.00, but I know nothing of this company. It would be powering a 12" Clarion PXW, so it's 600x1 @4OHM would be perfect. Anything you call tell me would be great. Thanks.
PS: Last time I asked about a specific product, a few people PM'ed me and told me to buy their used stuff instead. Please don't do this.

Audison for years has made a good product. The SRx line being their entry level I did very little work with, the LRx I did far more and found some good amps and some ok amps in the entire Audison line.
Consider that a deal is only a deal if it is right for the application. While it is nice to purchase that amp on a clearout type price (which is what it is), is it the right amp for the application. 600w rms is quite a bit of power. If you are looking for this amount of power, it tells me that you are expecting the system to have some good output. It tells me that you will be expecting the amp to perform. Being a class AB type amplifier, while it may be a great amp, it is also going to run extremely warm when operating a sub. As with some of the other Audison amplifiers, I find some issues with their power claims at the same time. Being posed to me as a proprietary type of fuse for example allows the amp to make more power......um, no, a fuse is a fuse and ohms law does not change at all. So, at the end of the day, it is a great amp, it is a good deal but is the deal right for the application. Personally for me to run a sub, knowing full well that it was going to be run long and loud, I would be looking to a class D 2 channel amp that will be able to do the job far more efficiently.

A fuse isn't just a fuse there are differences in the type of fuse you use.
There are ones made to blow fast if the product using it cannot take any variance in voltage or amperage.
There is also slow-blow or time delay that are designed to take a certain amount of current over what it is rated for a specified amount of time.
You can basically design a fuse to blow however you want it, with built in delays or instantaniously.

^^^ I agree with that don't get me wrong there. I disagree with the "Audison uses a proprietary fuse that allows the amp to make more power" BS. Either type of fuse, be it slow or fast if taken past it's limits and kept there is going to blow.
