audison vs soundstream
#1
Hey peoples
I have been wanting to get a set of focal 165 K2P's which are 100w rms. once i get the cash I will have then. and for an amp I was thinking of an Audison VRx 2.150.2 which puts out 110w rms x2 at 4 ohms. doing some more research I have found another amp that puts out the same power the Soundstream PCA 2.360. Now I know a little about Audison couple of friends have them and they are awsome amps but quite pricey. And i know nothing about the Soundstream amp so if anybody knows or has had experience with it feedback would be awsome. because if the soundstream amps are as good then that would be the way to go since they are about 1/4 of the price lol.
Thanks

I would say it would depend on your budget, and wether you are an audiophile or just a daily music driver. If you must have absolute clear sound, then go with the Audison, but if you want nice sound, go with the Soundstream. If you have the chance to hear both amps set up on a board, or better yet, in a vehicle, I would say do that and let your ears tell you what price you want to spend.
I would think that you might want to check out the f/s section on here. There are a few Zapco amps on here that are a great deal, and are very impressive sq amps. They can be had for prolly much cheaper than either the Soundstream or the Audison. And are better quality than the Soundstream, and comparable to the Audison.

I too would head for the new Zacpo amps or if you can find a Eclipse PA4212, it would be a darn good choice as well. My bet is that you would not hear a audable difference in tonal response from these amps. What you may hear from one to the other is a differing level of output which can sometimes be incorrectly taken as more bass response at lower volume levels. The Eclipse amp is 130w x 2 rms and is a powerhouse for it's low price.
