As far as the bad news goes, my fathers health has taken a nasty downturn. It's going to leave him pretty much incapacitated after his surgery. Being so far away from me has forced a change in location for me. So both stores need to be sold as is ASAP. Both stores are being sold below market value to expediate this transition for me.

One store is in Nanaimo and is new and 2 years young. The main store is in Courtenay, 9 years young and highly established with a profit for 9 years. I have been destocking each store over the winter in anticipation of this news. Inquires to forbidden@telus.net if you will.

For the mods, I sent Wade a pm on this earlier and with his recommendation I have posted it here. Lets just leave it alone please.

Sorry to hear that also, I hope that things turn around for your father. Family is so important. Take care!

Best wishes to you and yours Rob.

And here's hoping that whomever you sell to will put as much hard work, dedication and passion into the business that you have.

That's terrible news Rob. Best wishes to both you and your dad.

I have to commend you on your decision though. It's not easy to give up something you've worked so hard for. But nothing is more important than family.

Thanks for the comments guys. I lost my mom 5 years ago and now the thought of looking after a 79 year old in a house that he'll never leave, well it's going to be a tough one but I have got to step up when he is ready.

As far as the stored go, there is no lease left at either one (well one month in Nanaimo). Meaning the nice new store in Nanaimo with new everythings can be picked up and moved wherever. Nanaimo is now just about to start into year 3, with another indipendent going to shut down in that market and the who knows what with A&B Sound, it may be a good option as well. The Courtenay shop can be moved but it is established, has good clientele and is in a nice growing community as well.

Rob, I'm very sorry to hear the news -- I remember we talked about this last summer. I can say that the Nanaimo store has done some brisk business in the past and with the right direction it could kick some serious a$$ for some lucky investor. Best wishes Rob, I sincerely hope that things can turn around for your Dad -- I've been in your situation and I would not want to wish it on anyone.

Thanks Mike, we did not anticipate this happening this soon. (good memory btw) Darn straight that store can turn some huge coin for the right investor. Come on guys, the word. $55,000.00, contents of all descripriptions (save for tools and computer), (board alone is worth $60,000) one month left in the lease. A great move if someone wants to pick up a store and move it somewhere as well.
