I have a 2002 Accord, with a Crossfire 1000 and a Zapco Ag350. And I can't figure out why my battery keeps dying. Is this too much for my alt?

I've had it replaced once during the winter and that was during a cold spell but It's + 1 in Ottawa now and my battery is dead again?

How can I test my electrical system, and would you guys recommend getting a yellow top?

Is the amp shutting off properly?

You may also have whats called a parsidic load.Its a draw through a short in a wire or maybe even a light staying on in the trunk,glovebox etc.

To test for this,disconnect the negative side of the battery.Hook a multi meter set to OHMS across the gap(neg to the cable,pos to the neg post of the battery).This will more or less close the gap and give you a display of how much load is on the system with everything off.

There should be a minimum amount of draw,but will likely be some because of the deck memories,etc.

I have been told that if its more than 1 ohm,there is a problem(you may want someone else to confirm that number).If it is over XXX OHMS,go to your fuse block and start pulling fuses..one at a time..when you pull one and it makes a drastic difference,that will be the problem circuit.

It's one of two things. You alternator isn't charging or your battery isn't holding a charge. Take a meter and test the power post on you alt when the car is running. If you see around 14 volts then it's fine and your battery is dead or has a bad power or ground and is not charging.

Hey guys I brought my car to my Honda dealer, they said it was the aftermarket stereo and they would charge me to check it out. They said the stereo or alarm light was draining the battery. How can I test this? How can I find out what the drain is? I've had this setup on other cars and the battery never died. If it is the stereo how can I fix it? Would a better ground at the Battery help? I'm running a 0 gauge power wire but I haven't upgraded the ground yet.

this has nothing to do with the stereo's draw. either your alternator is dead, the battery is bad or something in your stereo is not turning off.

How can I check if something's not turning off? Is it the load test with the multimeter that was mentioned earlier?

just take it to a car audio shop to have them check it
