Beginner Quick Question-Downgrade subs?!

Ok thanks man for clearing that up... ok so here is the way i think you should hook them up, you will not get the full power to the subs but it will sound way better 
when your done hooking them up let me know what it sound like

i always listen to my stereo at full output
because if i turn it down the speakers will wreck because im underpowering them

ok so i wired them the way that you said, and there is something wrong.
There isnt enough power coming to the speakers. It sounds a bit muffled.
I wired them up in series (which is what you recomended, if i am correct) into one amp.
any suggestions?!!?!
