I really like the JL XRs... VRs are good too if the XRs are too high for the budget..
The Adire Koda6.1 set also went down in price quite a bit... and they're a very good set. Improved now so there's no surround issues, and they come with full mounting supplies.

Vifa, or Dynaudio. I have Dynaudio Speakers front and back, both pairs cost me about $200 total . I am one happy guy, EVERY single person that has ever been in my car has commented on how beautiful they sound. go to http://www.madisound.com that's where I got mine. WELL 'VERY WELL' worth the money. You wont be disappointed.

Well there's an inherent challenge/potential problem in having the same frequencies coming from two very different locations in the front of the vehicle.
If you like the way the 4's in the dash sound, maybe try and x-them-over a bit lower, like around 300-400 HZ (depending on how much power and how steep a x-over slope ... the steeper slope allows lower x-over point...more power usually needs a higher x-over point if you like to crank it).
Next step would be to run your door speaker in well dampened/sealed door (use the door as the enclosure)from around 60-80 Hz and up to match the 4's in the dash...blend them up until they sound good, probably somewhere in the 300 Hz range, again depending on x-over slope, lowpass this time btw....play with the x-over slope & point here as it will have a great influence on the way it will blend, for example you might choose to x-over at 150 Hz lowpass and 6 db/Octave slope on your door speaker, or 300 Hz at 24 db/Octave slope, use your ears to decide.
Then again, you might decide to use the dash speakers as tweets only and put a whole new set of comps in the doors...
