best amp for L5 in ported Box

Right now I have a PYLE PLM205 powering my L5 and im sure its underpowering the sub. I dont know the specs of my PYLE amp as I didnt get any documentation on it and have been unable to locate specs for it. Im wondering what the best amp would be to match up with this subwoofer. its in a ported box and its the single 12" L5. its the 4ohm version. Thx in advance.

by 4 ohm im assuming that its dual 4 ohm, so you need an amp thats optimized for 2 ohms, so you probably want class d power , so you need an amp thats 450 rms min at 2 ohms, so you have to know how much you want to spend , whats your budget?

?

well the guy bthat sold me the sub said it was a 4ohm speaker and that my Pyle was only stable at 4ohms. I have the pyle amp bridged for the L5. How do I determine which L5 I actually have just by looking at it.....if he didnt bs me then right now my amp is playing a 4ohm bridged mode into my single L5, I dont know what that means as far as DVC 2ohms or DVC 4ohms, can someone help out. I am so damn confused, I change my amp to something 2ohm stable then will it work with the L5 I have? Ive been offered a kicker kx600.1 which is supposedly 750rms at 2ohms which would be a perfect fit but what if my L5 isnt designed for 2ohm loads what then?

you can always test the impedence using a multimeter to see if its 4ohms or 2ohms..or you can take the sub out of the box and check to see if its dual or not..worth your time to do this before you buy an amp just to be sure. I think it might be Dual 4ohm..and i definitely think class D power. MTX class D monoblocks i believe are stable @ 2ohm. MTX is good but there are alot of other ones out there as well

90% of kicker subs (i find) are dual 4ohm. So pretty much any Alpine amp will work. I was beating on a prefabbed L5 12" in prefab box with my mrd-m1001 and well it got stinky after about 10 mins but i never really let it go for that long on full anyways. I tried this with 3 prefabbed 12" btw. At one point I owned 5 of those box/sub combos.

Sooo MRD-M605? lol
