Best Way to Ground Battery? - BIG 3

Need some advise on the best way to run the ground from my Optima Yellow top battery to the body.

Firstly, the battery is being relocated to the rear of my 89 Camaro (where the spare tire used to be).

Here is what I was planning.....

Attach a Battery Terminal (Stinger SHT303) to the negative and run 0 ga cable from the battery terminal to a Foot Ground (Stinger SPT5212) located in the bottom of the wheel well.

Stinger SHT303

Stinger SPT5212
http://www.woofersetc.com/p6336/SPT5212--Stinger-ShocKrome-Series-0-Gauge-Dual-Foot-Ground-Terminal.htm

OR

Cut a 2' piece of 0 ga Cable, attach a 0 ga Ring Terminal to each end and secure one end to the side bolt post of the battery and the other to a bolt in the wheel well of the car.

Which one would (if any) would provide the best ground for the battery.

Thanks

Ring Terminal

i would suggest grounding to the actual frame of your car. i plan on running an NSB 75 in my trunk and having 3 runs of ground to the same spot of the frame.

My car is a unibody so it only has a partial rear frame. Grounding to the body should do.

So which ground method is best?

Well, the ground foot is pretty much just a specialized ring terminal so ultimately it would come down to the manner you affix either to the body. If you bolt the ring terminal through the sheet metal and only use sheet metal screws with the foot, then the bolt should be superior. Run 2 bolts through the foot though and it should be superior. The quality of your termination will be the difference.

well obviously the best is to go to the frame....but if you have a good connection to the chassy it should be fine

how big of a system are you running?

Thanks Dukk...I'll defintely be bolting the ground terminal to the body.

No system yet....Since I'm moving the battery to the trunk I have to re-run the wiring for the alternator and starter. Figured I'd go with 0/1 ga wire (because of the distance) and so it made sense to also run 0/1 ga ground. I'm also going the ground the block to the body with 0/1 ga and do the BIG 3 while I can. It's fairly simple since a new motor will be going in anyway....Camaro need power!!!

System will come next year...I already have a sparkomatic amp and some pyle speakers to go in!!

I'm moving the AC dryer and smog pump to where the battery would be and pulling the hoses from off the engine and running them closer to the frame rail. The engine bay on an 89 Camaro is pretty cluttered. If you look at the pass side of a stock engine bay, you can barely see the valve covers

Added bonus is a bit more weight in the rear and over the tires.

Not exactly a lot of room....valve covers look like they're hiding.
