Do you already using the Type-R? If so, how old is it?

The TS-W3004SPL is an AWESOME subwoofer with more advanced technology in it than any other subwoofer on the market. It is mainly geared for SPL but is a greatly improved SQ sub as well.

To be honest though, if your Alpine is a year or so old, I wouldn't think you'd be able to hear much of a difference but if it's 2+ years old, the TS-W3004SPL might sound superior & be able to work in a wider range of enclosures. It's sound signature is deep, punchy, powerful bass.

Hope this input helps.

a li' biased, aren't we? What technology makes it superior than ANY other subwoofer on the market? Working for Pioneer, I'm sure you can back this up.

Doan, of course I'm "biased" becuase this is the product I know best. Three patents back up Pioneer's claim.

And Rob, isn't your post above a little of "the pot calling the kettle black"?

if pioneer guy is going to sell the pioneer sub then i might as well do the same only with hrad facts!

I would go with a RE XXX sub. Only one of few subs to use xbl^2 motor topology. Which gives the sub the flatest bl curve in the market.

The XXX WILL sound better then the alpine and WILL be louder then the alpine also. I will put my personal guarentee on it.

If you want more info on xbl^2 go to http://www.adireaudio.com/TechInfo.htm
as Adire is the R&D company to invent xbl^2 technology.
