big 3
I'm surprised to notice that new vehicals have tiny wires running off the battery, like 10 or 8 awg. I noticed this last night when looking under the hood of a Honda CRV. Now I understand why upgrading the "big 3" is mentioned so much, new vehicals don't come with large enough wires there
My older car came with 4awg wires so it was already done. I guess they just don't build them like they used to.

I guess that would depend on what car you're talking about. My car has 4 ga. from alt and battery to chassis. Starter wire is 2 ga. But the car came with a V8 and 140 amp alt.
All i did was add a 0 from neg to chassis and its good.
I was thinking of expanding my system, getting new alt. bigger amps etc.
But my wife wants my car. She told me to get myself a new one and start biulding a new system.

Ya, the big 3 really helped on my old blazer. This new car that I have it would be totally pointless though cuz it seems like the whole body is plastic (which I like because it doesn't rust). So thank god I had enough extra wire from my last install to run zero gauge to the amps.
