Big 3 and Insulation Question

I had 3 major questions.

First, would I see more of a result from adding another battery to my system, given it being a cheap and normal battery, or from doing the big 3?

Can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative to Dynamat? I remember seeing threads about some housing insulation or something. But, I'd just like to know what the best cheaper alternatives are.

And last, how is my equipment going to do in the winter? I'm specifically worried about my touchscreen. I park outside, and even now the LCD seems to be "slow" when it hasn't warmed up yet. And the motor that pulls it out seems to be struggling.

Thanks in advance for any help!

1) Big 3 first. Current is only as good as it can pass.
2) There is a forum member (splescort) selling a good product for sound deadening at a great price.
3) I can't comment on touch screens as I've never owned one during the winter.

What motor? LCD's work with electricall current http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/lcd.htm

They get cold and respond slower. As to will it affect the longevity of your equipment? The answer is yes it will shorten the life span, however most LCD products for cars are expected to last 10+ years(at least thats how long the backlight is supposed to last in my pioneer)

when i say respond i mean the picture itself not the touch screen commands. When it gets cold there can be ghosting or poor image qualtily because the LC is very cold and cannot move quick enough e.g. if the screen went from white to black the image would not be as dark as it would if it wasn't cold. And if you read the owner's manual it will tell you the operating temperatures for your perticular HU

I was very aware of what you meant. and my post still stands. I don't get any abnormal behavior from my HU in the winter. All my buddy's HU's lag a bit but the JVC seems to be just fine.

DO the big3 first, and see what your volts at and drops to then decide if you want to get a small battery for the back, or new alt.
