fuses robb you of current you want more power no fuse you want a little less than that fuse it and to solve your fuse issue take the amperage of the circuit and multiply it by 125 % and that will give you the proper size fuse also if they dont make one that exact size go the next size down ..

I'm surprised you would think I don't know a fusible link when I see it dude. I've owned my share of POS GM product

The fusible link at the starter is there for the starter. My Z28, Jimmy, Cutlass, and Hearse all had the traditional pathetic 10ga wire direct from the starter to the battery.

For sure - some cars doinclude a fusible link in some form on the alternator charge lead. Many do not.

I stand by the opinion that putting a fuse in the charge lead is unnecessary and if one DOES want to include it, the proper way is to put in two, one at each end. When I install judged and a I saw a single fuse in the charge lead I would ask what the fuse protected. After they answered I would ask about the opposite component. Generally this was met with WHOOPS - suddenly you get 0 for proper system fusing

Paul, even though I mentioned your name, it was not directed to you primarily (unless that momentary lapse in memory is back again from getting old) but more towards the people on the site that can read it that do not know what a fuseable link is.
