Big three question....
I'm doing the big three today and was wondering if it mattered if the current connections stay in place instea of removing them. Would it cause an issue to haw two sets of wires?
It's recommended that you add as opposed to replace...simple reason..more conductor!
I didnt' replace anything, I just added the Big 3 and no problems to report. You'll be safe.
now, I'm not sure if I did this right or not but I did
1. positive from battery to positive to alternator 2. engine block to frame 3. battery negative to frame. Is this right? |
yep! :smilie_da or engine block straight to battery neg.

Check this out Yuli was nice enough to give us a step by step |
The only difference Between that step by step is he did engine block to battery negative, then battery negative to engine chassis. I did it engine block to chassis and battery negative to chassis. Would that make any difference?
lil more resistance, other wise no. Still good so long as the connections are solid.
I would say that it will make a difference.. The better your Grounds the better current you will get.... I do believe that power flows from NEG to POS.. I have added extra grounds to my system and everytime I do I go up at least 0.1 of a Volt

yeah I have 2 batts under the hood and I have the Big 3 running to both and they are linked together with 0/1 and then I have the front batts linked with the one in the cab... Just linking pos to pos and neg to neg direct i went up .5 Volts.. Its kinda amazing how one little thing can help so much.

Should be good!!:smilie_da You could also take the engine block ground from near the battery right to it instead of the shock tower. Otherwise what you did will work too. Looks like a nice clean "Big 3" to me.
I would change the bolts. Fresh and clean. To me it looked like a ground went aluminum. If so I would try to find a different place to ground. But looks good. Clean runns.
