Question

I am looking for a good 6.5" component set, and I came accross a huge variety of course.

Some that caught my eye, were from Alpine & Boston Acoustics.

do the Boston Acoustic Rally series ( http://www.bostonacoustics.com/ca_pr...&CategoryID=14 ) exceed the performance of a Alpine Type-R component set?

Is the Boston Acoustic ProSeries ( http://www.bostonacoustics.com/ca_pr...&CategoryID=14 ) worth the price? Keep in mind I can get these at wholesale price.

Any other brands I should look into... specific models?

To power 6.5" component's what would be a good wattage for a 2 channel amp?

Do head units EVER have any high-pass outputs on them so I can run some smaller speakers along with my components?

Thanks

does Panasonic by any chance make something with those types of features?

I think I'm gonna go with Panasonic... look like they got some very nice MP3 decks with good features, for affordable prices

Hmmm Interesting...

So your saying the sound quality is not up to par with Alpine or others mentioned?

Thumbs down

If it HAS to be Panasonic, avoid any models below 7XX series.
I have a friend, or should I now say a fiend who has a CDF 583U, and I notice it has poor balance/fader controls, doesn't sound stereo in any way, and has the Panasonic muddy sound to add to that.

The 783 is iffy. Sounded better, but I still don't buy flash. It's just me.

I bought a pair of Boston Rally's used just because I needed something quick and I have not been let down yet. They sound great, looking to upgrade to the Pros next fall I think.
