I recently picked up a deck off ebay for dirt cheap. Problem is it comes with no wiring harness.

Its a Jensen, and I emailed them and for $16 or so I can get a new harness, but i was thinking of making one myself.

Anyone know a good way to put a connector over those small pins? t has 4 sections of pins sticking up. There evenly spaced, soo small to get a small spade connector on.

Any ideas?

I think that it will be in your best interests to just spend the 16 dollars for a new harness, and save the headaches.

I think it would be in your best interest to junk the Jenson and buy a decent deck.

How would you know what pins are what ?

If you were forced to come up with something, Id take the thing apart and soldier new wires right to the board... if you are lucky its labled... otherwise you gotta figure them out on your own... and if you hook something up incorrecly you could risk damaging the unit...

Id probably just buy the harness...

Its more than decent for what I need it for, its not for me, but for a very very budget system. For $32 cdn you can't go wrong.

Haunz: I already know what the pins are, Ive taken apart the case and the solder joints are labled on the PCB board so its very easy to trace

I might just solder to the board, although I got some pins to fit that i found in my electronic kit, but there brittle and break easy

Oh hell ya, save your $16 (+shipping, ect) then !

If you do use the pins, after they are all attached fill the cavity in with epoxy to seal them in place... either that or solder new wires right to the board...

I would rather see you start off at a decent starting point then to try to use a product that would likely be outperformed by most of todays factory OEM decks.

There is no decent starting point for this project. This is a one time thing, once its in there will be no upgrading. If it was my system I would have been spending more money on it but its a limited budget for the build so Im squeezing every penny out for this.

So far I have:

Jensen CD315X Cd player
Cliff Designs 4" Coax
Visionik 12" Sub
Old School Pioneer GM-H22 2 ch amp, and If i can get it working, MMATS 2 channel amp all for under $100 cdn.

If I wanted advice on what to buy I would ask, I don't know you feel the need to go telling me what is and what isn't a good idea to do.
