Now, I've seen some people talkin' 'bout brahma's here. and I've looked at the site, and seen the videos. are they really that much better than alot of other spl woofers and such?

i watched that video about the guy breakin' his doors (on the site). Correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't steel be the last thing to break on a car? I mean, steel is stronger than anything else on the car, that's kinda why the frame is made of steel. so tell me how the steel door frame cracks before the plexiglass, or the plastic on the dashboard, or any of the other hundred things inside the car, including the wood of the box (if it's made of wood). Plus, the vibrations would probably loosen several bolts before steel actually cracked.

That guy's just an idiot. he probably broke it on sumthin' else, but since he works for adire audio, so it seems, he claims the brahmas did it. hmmmmmmmmm....

apparantly I can get a free ninja camera. did ninja's use camera's?? I didn't think so.

so, if the brahma's can break a car door, then obviously sumehin' like Rockford or sumthin' like that can. I mean, they do have a recorded spl of 172.6, which is higher than the brahma idiot.

Too many things to consider besides the driver when looking at spl records.
Bottom line is, Brahma is an excellent sql driver. Excellent sounding and can get very loud and still stay detailed. Is it the best? It is better to say their is a best speaker for every application. Brahma is clean, accurate, and can take lots of power. Works very well in a sealed box as does the Eclipse Ti's.
For ported applications I would suggest some other choices;
DD9500
Resonant Engineering XXX
BA Inhuman
stroker

Although I've never heard them, the A series by ED should also be on the list as they seem to be getting rave reviews by everyone installing them.
Best thing to do is try to hear as many as you can and decide from there.
If spl #'s are your thing then I would suggest some other choices than the Brahma. There are many other choices out there that will hit the numbers and are way cheaper than the Brahma.

what 'bout the JL 13W7? I was thinkin' of pickin' up one of those, or maybe the Phoenix Gold Ti12d "Fat Bastard", or maybe an Eclipse Titanium.

I was going to get the e15a but didn't wanna wait any longer. It does look promissing but I would prefer to wait till I heard it before ordering.
JL W7's are in my mind a great speaker, but overpriced and you're stuck finding an amp that will do power in 3 ohm. Many other great options out there. Hey, how about two 15" Inhuman's made to order for the price of one 13W7?.....I know what I'd choose.
Eclipse Ti's are excellent sounding drivers that like/need a ton of juice and are great if you plan to go with a sealed system. An excellent sql driver.

I was about to consider a Brahma for myself, and may do so in the near future, but I'm stuck in my glory with an Eclipse Ti and CV Strokers. Adire does have rave reviews from their owners, so it likely wouldn't be a wrong move to go with one. I currently have some spare Strokers for sale for a good deal, just in case.

One nice thing about the Brahma's and similar subs is that they use off the shelf parts.... so they are a little more affordable then many other compairable woofers...

I'd personally rather have a RE XXX though...

That is definately one of the most ignorant posts I have ever seen. The best part was you calling Scottie Johnson "an idiot".

You must be an idiot if your calling scottie J stupid and saying hes a liar. I talk to scottie and he is an awesome guy, he doesnt work for brahma and that install was in his SPL van. You must be retarded or something, maybe you cant read, I would suggest keeping you mouth shut before you go calling someone who holds a world record an idiot.
