Bride at 2ohm Alpine PDX 4.100 or 4.150 - HELP

I'm looking to upgrade my front stage amp and can't decided between the 4.100 or 4.150. They will power Focal KP100's and KBE165 in a 3 way mode.

My plan is to run the fronts in bridged mode so they will get either 200 watts or 300 watts per side! This will show a 2ohm load reading to the amp.

Current system is Eclipse CD7100 / Alpine MRV-F345(4ch 75watts) / Focal KP100 and Focal KBE 165 / Alpine MRD-M605 (not replacing) / 2x JL Audio 10w1

Thanks in advance

Others wont agree, but I'm a big fan of the more the merrier theory, I'd get the 4.150 and you'll get about 340-360 per side bridged....yay heardroom.

I just spoke directly with Alpine and the amp will not go down to 2ohms in bridge mode. $h!t

any other amps that can deliver 200+ watts at 2ohms

space available is :
Width: 13” Height: 2-5/16” Depth: 8-11/16”

Totally missed the 2ohm thing, how is what you listed 2ohm though, now im confused, is this going to be ran passive or active?

....sorry just looked it up, my bad, you are running two sets of components, i assumed the kp100 was just a tweet

passive. I'm using the focal x-overs. When I combine the KP100s and the KBE165's the Focal manual states 2ohm load is present!

So far I've looked into Audison and Focal

What is the pdx 2 channel?

avidedtr Nov 20, 2007 11:54 AM

the pdx is 150 watts @ 4 and 2 ohms. Not enough power for my application!

Look into an Audison SRX2S. 180x2 at 4 ohms, and 300x2 at 2 ohms.

looks like my only options are either the PDX.150 or the MRV series

$h!t yet again!
