Bridging Channels

SCENARIO 1

Ok lets say I have 800 watts x 1 @ 2 ohms (on an amp)
If I bridge this to two channels what will it become?
400 watts x 2 @ 1 ohm or
400 watts x 2 @ 2 ohms

SCENARIO # 2

I have 4-channels 200 w x 4 @ 2 ohms
If I bridge these all into 2 channels What does it become?
400 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms or
400 watts x 2 @ 2 ohms

I really need to know this since I'm pickuping up an amp this weekend

Well in both scenarios it depends on the amp(s). for one thing not all amps are bridgeable, and secondly, they don't all produce the same amount of power once bridged... need to know what amps we're talking about before anyone can tell you what sort of power you will get out of them once they are bridged.
