JL or Sundown
Im looking for advise on getting a single sub setup. I want to know which would you guys get and what would be the benefit of getting one over the other. The box will be custom built to whatever sub I get and porbably tuned around 34 hertz for both set ups.
1. JL Audio 13w7 on JL Audio HD 1200
2. Sundown X12 on Sundown 2000D

bangin' loud.. nice clean music
vs my sa zv3 15 on the same amp in a 99 Toyota Camry custom box 4.4cubes tuned 32hz
that was stupid loud... shook my neighbors door while I was parked on my driveway..
the only sub I've heard from jl was the w7... I've heard the zv3s zv4s and the X12 and sundown never disappoints..
not saying that JL is inferior to SA but my favor is on sundown simply cuz every other basshead I've met in my area kept saying jl is overpriced and sundown is underrated.. and I couldn't agree more
so I would say go with sundown cuz it seems like you have the room to give it more power if needed and plus I hear they are absolute beasts when put in a 4th order (zv3) - if you decide to mess with diff. boxes or such
but don't get me wrong , the Lexus with the jl was shaking like a **** too but wasn't as loud as the zv3 in my setup... jl is known for the sound quality ibelieve.. and also take in consideration everything will depend on the install and the type of car, power etc... the Lexus was finished clean.. carpeted mounted and everything, sounded clean and loud. my Camry I just threw a sub in the box and threw that sucker in the trunk no carpet or bolts to hold it down to anything.. straight up loud
just go with what appeals to you! can never go wrong with your own choices mate js! both options sound like good components to pair with eachother already.
