Building My Fifth Party Bus

Hey Everyone,

My name's Tom and I am working on building my fifth party bus. I'm not sure where to fit my post in, as it is related to lighting not audio. Anyhow, here it goes.

The design I am working on includes colored light shining from beneath some frosted plastic in various areas of the bus.

Here is what I want the light to be able to do:

1. Bounce to the beat of the music.

2. Have the ability to fade from one color into another.

3. Have the ability to remain one color, or switch to another if so desired by the driver.

4. Be turned off completely.

In order to do all of the above, what would I need to do?

I have not chosen the light I am going to use and am open to suggestions.

I'd really appreciate some help if you have the time to lend it to me.

Thanks a ton.
Tom

Get a good DC/AC converter and then look into these types of equipment.

PROFESSIONAL LIGHTING SYSTEMS - DMX CONTROLLERS - EUROLIGHT LC2412 : Professional 24-Channel DMX Lighting Console

If your still stuck pm me I know people way up who can get you these things. This one in the link is a bit oldschool but it works. If your good with programing go ethernet/laptop control via programing.

a couple regular 12v LED underglo kits may do what you want

yeah an LED underglow kit will do that... they have sound sensors, they can be set to a specific color, or you can have it so that its changing colors while dancing... and its al controlled by a neat little box, not to mention they are pretty cheap to boot!

underglow kits should work well.
I'm curious, whereablouts in alberta are your busses right now?

The company I own is called Party Machine and we are in Calgary. We've been around for 5 years and I am challenging myself to be the best party bus builder around.

I've taught myself to paint and fabricate, and have dabbled in upholstery. I am proud of my new project and I carry a lot of pride.

We've got a Hot Rod Bus, Zebra Bus, and Tiger Bus. Tiger is my baby as it was the first experiment I ever had doing the painting and most of the work on my own. This new bus is going to top Tiger in terms of my involvement and creativity.

If anyone wants to contribute their ideas, I am all ears.

Thank you to those who posted the ideas above. I don't know anything about lighting by I can see that this will help me launch my loudest and most eye-catching party bus yet.
